The Right Person...

We are looking for a skilled and experienced developer, particularly proficient in programming object oriented PHP and MySQL databases. Some knowledge of Classic ASP would be useful. The successful candidate will also have excellent front-end coding with X/HTML, CSS and JavaScript / libraries. You will also need to have an excellent understanding of accessibility, W3C standards and practices, as well as an exemplary eye for detail.

The successful candidate will have worked on and developed database driven and transactional websites within a LAMP environment. But most importantly, we are looking a team player and quick learner who wants to be at the cutting edge of web technologies and web development trends. Someone to keep up-to-date with latest industry news and trends, a finger on the pulse, as well as being able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and have experience working within a digital agency.

Essential skill set:

• PHP 5  and PHP 4
• MySQL
• JavaScript + AJAX (jQuery / YUI)
• X/HTML + CSS2
• Basic Linux/Windows system administration skills such as configuring Apache, PHP, MySQL
• W3C standards, achieving an AA WAI rating and compatible with the main Mac & PC browsers.
• Knowledge of browser quirks and variations
• Adobe Software: Photoshop, After Effects
• SEO and SEM understanding and ability to use Google Analytics
• Excellent internet skills in using various browsers and search engines

Desirable skill set:

• eCommerce software: such as Magento
• Secure online payment gateways
• Experience of developing content for a mobile platform e.g. iPhone / Smartphone
• Flash ActionScript 3 Development
• XML
• SQL Server / PostgreSQL
