iQ Media were recently commissioned to review and develop brand guidelines and roll out strategy for blyth + blyth.  The name, blyth +blyth name has been a stalwart of the UK’s construction industry since 1848. The company is an independent consultancy specialising in civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design, active across most aspects of the construction industry.  Key sectors are residential property, industrial plants, commercial buildings, hotels and leisure developments, education and public buildings and healthcare.

The company was engaged in the development of Scotland’s road and rail infrastructure and was responsible for the design of many notable works including Edinburgh’s North Bridge, Edinburgh Waverly and Glasgow Central Railway Stations.

The Firm’s activities grew and varied through the 20th century as the infrastructure network matured and focus turned to the improvement, replacement and development of building stock of all kinds. During this period, the blyth+blyth name remained at the forefront of construction and has been constantly regarded amongst the most capable and respected engineering practices in the UK.

After a management buyout, the board decided that the logo; the core of their corporate identity, did not reflect the aims and values of blyth+byth. After undertaking extensive research within the organisation and its client base, it became apparent that the logo no longer reflected the company;s approach, direction and attitudes.  iQ Media were appointed to develop a new brand identity, including logo and guidelines which would then be implemented across all media platforms, from the corporate website to annual reports and publications.

iQ Media's creative team produced a new logo and implemented, as part of a total brand overhaul,  across all platforms, including redesigning and restructuring of the corporate website.  The logo and brand guidelines now reinforce blyth+blyth as a young, dynamic, established yet re-invigorated company, taking it through into 21st Century.
